NEW DELHI: BJP on Tuesday mocked Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s ‘aam aadmi’ claim, saying the AAP national convenor travelled on a chartered plane to reach Gujarat for his two-day visit.
BJP’s Manjinder Singh Sirsa posted a photo of the Delhi CM with a flight attendant and wrote that his “daily drama” of projecting himself as an “aam aadmi or eating with auto drivers or dressing up casually is a farce”.
“It’s no more funny to see Arvind Kejriwal acting like a con artist. His daily “Drama” of projecting himself as aam aadmi or eating with Auto drivers or dressing up casually is a FARCE. In reality — his multi-millionaire friends are giving him ample monetary & in-kind benefits,” Sirsa tweeted.

Delhi BJP’s media relations in-charge Harish Khurana also tweeted the same picture with his comment, “We are aam aadmi, we travel by chartered plane only.”
Senior advisor in the I&B ministry Kanchan Gupta also shared the picture and hit out at Kejriwal, saying, “Arvind Kejriwal began life in politics with Rs 500 in his pocket, frayed baggy pants, oversized shirt and a muffler that had not been washed since his IIT days. Eight years on… Taxpayers’ money is funnelled to media to buy silence as he jets around in style.”
Most of the BJP leaders took a dig at Kejriwal, who is seen travelling in a chartered plane to reach Gujarat to campaign for his party for the assembly polls in the state where he travelled in an auto and dined at the residence of an auto driver.
Lok Sabha MP and former Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari made an appeal to the auto drivers of Gujarat urging them not to be “befooled” by Kejriwal’s promises.
“Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has made many promises to the auto drivers in Delhi, out of which not a single one has been fulfilled. You can find out the truth about this by talking to any auto driver of your acquaintance in Delhi,” Tiwari said and added that Kejriwal is infamous for “antics” and is doing the same in Gujarat.
