Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt‘s ‘Brahmastra’ opened to impressive collections at the box office. The film has reportedly earned around Rs 75 crore worldwide, with around Rs 36 crore coming from India alone. Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy action adventure film has had the highest opening day collection in the history of a non-holiday release for original Hindi content. With many shows going houseful, theatres have opened early morning and late night shows to keep up with the audience’s demands.

Twitter users shared screenshots of opening show bookings in Delhi as early as 6 am and as late as midnight. Theatres in Mumbai and other major centres have also started early morning and late night shows, reports Hindustan Times. The film will have seven back-to-back shows and theatres will be running for 21 hours, the report further stated. The report also quoted an exhibitor from Mumbai stating that this is temporary and is likely to decrease after the weekend.

Brahmastra also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy in key roles. Part 1 of the trilogy had cameos from Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. The fantasy action adventure opened to mixed reviews, yet managed to get fantastic opening at the box office.
