NEW DELHI: If all opposition parties agree to join in, Congress may lead a march to Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday in protest against “misuse of agencies“ by the government. It would be the second day of the new President in office.
The party has made elaborate plans for protest on the day Congress chief Sonia Gandhi is scheduled to appear before the ED for second round of questioning in the National Herald case.
Congress may desist from street protests on Tuesday, said sources. While the reason for such a departure from the norm is not clear, sources said it is likely dictated by some feedback it has received. The party is cut up with the ED dragging the questioning of the 75-year-old leader, and some quarters may feel that protests are provoking the government into continuing with the questioning sessions. The party plans protests in Par liament apart from the march.
