NEW DELHI: BJP president JP Nadda criticised the previous governments in power at the Center on Tuesday for a variety of issues, including a shortage of weapons and ammunition in India’s defence system.
The BJP leader said that up until 2014, the Armed Forces lacked modern ammunition, bulletproof jackets, and other essentials while speaking at a program on the occasion of the 23rd Kargil Vijay Diwas. “What was the leadership of that time doing? Defence deals became scams during that time,” he said.
Nadda said that throughout the eight years of the Modi government, 36 Rafale fighter planes, 28 Apache helicopters, and several other items were acquired. “Now India is exporting bulletproof jackets instead of importing. Attack and then report to us is the policy now,” Nadda said as he praised the Modi government.
