NEW DELHI: There have been many Congress vs Congress battles in the grand old party. But now, with so many leaders quitting the party, the ex-Congressmen are also trading barbs at each other.
Kapil Sibal, who quit the Congress to start an “independent” innings today, was a vocal critic of leaders who left the grand old party to join the BJP.
So on Wednesday, when Sibal announced that he had quit the Congress last week, one such leader was quick to take a swipe at the former Union minister.
When Jitin Prasada, who is at present a minister in the Yogi Adityanath government, left the Congress to join the BJP ahead of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Kapil Sibal was scathing in his attack.
Sibal had then written on Twitter, “Jitin Prasada Joins BJP. The question is will he get ‘prasada’ from BJP or is he just a ‘catch’ for UP elections? In such deals if ‘ideology’ doesn’t matter changeover is easy.”

Sibal used the “prasada” analogy to hint at the benefits the leader could possibly reap from joining the BJP.
Today, as the news of Kapil Sibal’s resignation from the Congress hogged headlines, Jitin Prasada was quick to hit back.
Prasada took to Twitter to take a dig at Kapil Sibal: “How’s the “Prasad” Mr. Sibal!#Rajyasabha.”

The hint obviously was to the possible gain of Rajya Sabha seat for which Kapil Sibal seems to have quit the Congress.
