NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate on Monday informed Kolkata special court that West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee, arrested in connection with an alleged school jobs scam, has chronic health issues, but does not require hospitalisation.
The ED presented AIIMS Bhubaneswar medical report of Partha Chatterjee before the court which stated that he is fit and stable.
“There is nothing wrong with medical reports. He was taking advantage of his position to stay in a state-run hospital. He is fit & can be taken into custody,” ED said citing AIIMS report.
Earlier today, Partha Chatterjee was flown to Bhubaneswar in an air ambulance by the ED as per the direction of the Calcutta high court.
The court on July 24 directed the ED, which had arrested Chatterjee in connection with its probe into the alleged scam, to take to AIIMS Bhubaneswar early on Monday by air ambulance.
The ED demanded 14-day custody of Partha Chatterjee.
