NEW DELHI: Rescheduling her questioning session in a money laundering case, the Enforcement Directorate on Friday issued fresh summons to Congress president Sonia Gandhi for June 23 to appear at its headquarters here.
Sonia has been asked to appear for questioning related to laundering allegations against the Associated Journals Ltd, the publishers of National Herald, and a section 25 non-profit company Young Indian. Sonia Gandhi along with her son Rahul and daughter Priyanka are majority shareholders in the Young Indian which has taken over AJL, and in turn have acquired the rights over its assets worth hundreds of crores.
Sonia was earlier issued summons for June 8 but since she was suffering from Covid, the Congress chief had sought fresh date from the agency. Rahul, too, had been summoned on June 2 but since he was travelling overseas, he was also given a fresh date for June 13.
