When Anushka Sharma recalled talking on the phone with father about ‘school’ and ‘boyfriends’ during the Kargil War | Hindi Movie News

Anushka Sharma, who is celebrating her 33rd birthday today, had once opened up about her father being an army officer and how emotionally tough it was for her during war times.

Recalling those times, Anushka had told ETimes in an interview in 2012, “Kargil was a tough one. I was too young at that time but I was scared of seeing my mother. She would always have the news channel switched on throughout the day and would get upset when casualties were announced. When my dad called, he could not say much but I would go on talking about my school, boyfriends and everything else without realising that he was fighting a war.”

Elaborating further, the actress added that she is extremely close to her father and can talk to him what she can talk to no else. She also said, “I take pride in saying that I am an army officer’s daughter even more than being an actor.”

Anushka, who is happily married to cricketer Virat Kohli, is a mother of their daughter named Vamika. After a long gap of about four years, the actress is all set to return to the silver screen with her upcoming film, ‘Chakda Xpress’. Anushka will be essaying the role of Jhulan Goswami in the movie. The movie which traces the journey of Jhulan’s rise as one of the premier bowlers in the world is slated to release on an OTT platform.
