19 from Chhattisgarh hurt as bus falls into canal in J&K’s Samba | India News

JAMMU: At least 19 labourers from Chhattisgarh — including 10 women and two minors — who were travelling to Kashmir to work at a brick kiln, were injured when their bus skidded off the road and slid into a canal in Ghagwal area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district early Tuesday.
“The accident took place in Samotra Channi area after the bus driver lost control of the vehicle that rolled down into a canal,” said an official source.
Upon getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the Trauma Centre in Ghagwal. “Four among those hurt were referred to the Government Medical College, Jammu,” said a source.
Police registered a case and initiated an investigation.
