69 long-distance trains canceled as central railway plans 36-hour block for platform extension at CSMT

Central Railway (CR) has announced that a total of 69 long-distance trains will be canceled between May 31 and June 2 due to a planned 36-hour block between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Byculla. This block is necessary for the extension of platforms at CSMT to accommodate 24-coach trains.
During this period, train operations between Byculla and CSMT will be disrupted.A CR spokesperson mentioned that the impact on suburban local services is still being assessed, and further details will be shared soon.
In addition to the cancellations, 22 trains will terminate at Dadar, 2 at Thane, 3 at Panvel, 5 at Pune, and 1 at Nashik. Furthermore, 20 trains will originate from Dadar, 3 from Panvel, 5 from Pune, and 1 from Nashik.
CR has also stated that during the block period, suburban services will operate from Byculla and Dadar on the main line, and from Wadala on the Harbour line.
