All you need to know about Toxic ‘lead’ cast

·        Yash

·        Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria and Huma Qureshi

Nadia, played by Kiara Advani, turns out to be the mother of either Rumi or Ticket. The family at the centre of the narrative is intimately associated with her character. Meanwhile, Nayanthara portrays Raya’s sister Ganga. Her involvement gives the story another significant family link. Rukmini Vasanth plays Mellisa, Tara Sutaria plays Rebecca, and Huma Qureshi plays Elizabeth in the movie.

More about Toxic’s cast

International actors, including Kyle Paul, Beatriz Taufenbach, Surjith Gopinath, Benedict Garrett, and Tetiana Gaidar, are also included in Toxic.

With such a huge cast, the movie unites people from many origins and sets them in a society moulded by ambition, criminality, and complex relationships.

Toxic crew

Toxic is reportedly being made on a massive budget of around ₹500–600 crore. Yash’s Monster Mind Creations is collaborating with Venkat K. Narayana’s KVN Productions on the film, which also boasts a notable technical team.

The music features contributions from Vishal Mishra, Ravi Basrur, Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah and Arslan Nizami, while Basrur has also composed the background score. The film’s action sequences have been choreographed by Anbariv and other leading Indian action directors, alongside international stunt coordinator JJ Perry, known for his work on films such as John Wick and Fast & Furious.

Toxic plot

Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, is set in post-independence Goa. The narrative takes place during a time of significant societal change in the area following the end of colonial rule. In this context, the movie examines a criminal society where survival and power frequently go hand in hand.

Raya and Rumi, two of Yash’s characters, are at the heart of this greater struggle. Their relationship is linked to issues of ideology, power, and identity. Mohandas, who has directed movies like Liar’s Dice in the past, approaches the project with a more sombre and atmospheric style. She and Yash co-wrote Toxic as well.

Toxic release details

Toxic, which was filmed simultaneously in Kannada and English, will also be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam with dubbing or subtitles. The multilingual release is expected to give the film a wide theatrical presence across India when it hits screens on August 26.
