The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will hold its Annual General Meeting at its headquarters in Mumbai in late September 2026.

According to the notification sent to the member associations, the nomination of India’s representative to the International Cricket Council (ICC) will be one of the key items on the agenda.

The Board is also expected to take up the proposal to grant associate membership to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands cricket association.

The proposal had come up for discussion at an earlier Apex Council meeting. It is now likely to be placed before the AGM for consideration.

If approved, the move would bring the Union Territory into the BCCI fold. Associate membership, however, does not carry voting rights.

It would give cricket in the islands a formal place within the BCCI structure and provide a clearer route to its domestic competitions and development programmes.

The proposal is part of the Board’s effort to bring regions outside its existing membership structure into a more formal cricketing set-up.

Currently, 38 teams feature in the Board-approved domestic tournaments. The meeting will also see the election of two General Body representatives to the Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council. The BCCI will also induct a representative of the Indian Cricketers’ Association into the IPL Governing Council.
