La Liga champion Barcelona will have some serious competition for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) title this season, with holder Paris Saint-Germain among its firs-round opponents in the tournament.
Barcelona, a five-time European champion, last won the trophy in 11 years ago and will look to end the drought under the German coach Hansi Flick, who has already won five trophies at the club, including consecutive La Liga titles.
It learnt of its league-phase opponents during the UCL 2026-27 draw at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco on Thursday.

Barcelona’s UEFA Champions League fixtures for the initial phase have some interesting subplots, with Rodri going up against his former side, Man City, while Ferran Torres, who joined Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona this summer, will lock horns against the Catalans in the French capital.
The top eight after eight matchdays will directly qualify for the round of 16, while the next 16 teams will go through two-legged playoffs for a spot in the knockouts.
The bottom eight clubs after the league phase will be eliminated from the competition.
