India summoned Pakistan’s top diplomat in New Delhi and lodged a strong protest over a Pakistani naval ship’s collision with an Indian Navy vessel in international waters. The ministry of external affairs said the incident caused no major damage but was in direct contravention of Article 10 of the 1991 India-Pakistan agreement on advance notice of military exercises, manoeuvres and troop movements. Pakistan’s charge d’affaires was asked to convey India’s concerns to the relevant authorities and ensure military units exercise due care. A woman was allegedly hit by a car and dragged on its bonnet before falling onto the road and being run over near Janeshwar Mishra Park in Lucknow. Police detained the accused, Shahnawaz, and registered an attempt-to-murder case based on the woman’s complaint. Police said the two were known to each other and had reportedly argued before the incident. The woman sustained injuries. Read full story…
