Chess Olympiad 2026, Round 1: Pairings for India in Open and Women’s sections


The Indian team in both the Open and Women’s sections will get its FIDE Chess Olympiad 2026 campaign underway with the Round 1 ties on Wednesday.

In the Open section, India has been paired opposite Thailand, while the Dominican Republic will be the opponent in the Women’s.

R. Praggnanandhaa, who was assigned to Board 1 will be rested for the first-round clash, with Vidit Gujrathi featuring instead. Similarly, reserve player B. Savitha Shri will play instead of Divya Deshmukh in the Women’s event.

Open section:
