India continued its steady climb on the medal tally at the Asian Games 2026 on Saturday, October 3, as archer Kumkum Anil Mohod brought home the first-ever individual recurve gold medal and in turn an Olympic quota.
Meanwhile, Pranavi Urs became the first Indian woman to win gold in golf at the Asiad women’s individual event.
The men’s cricket team added a third gold medal of the day, beating Pakistan by 19 runs in the final in Nisshin.
Neeraj Chauhan added a bronze in men’s recurve archery individual after edging out compatriot Dhiraj Bommadevara in the bronze medal match.
Aman also claimed gold in the men’s 57kg freestyle wrestling event by defeating DPR Korea’s Han Chong Song. Meanwhile, Deepak Punia bagged bronze in the men’s 97kg freestyle event.
The men’s hockey team added another gold to push India into fourth on the table with 85 medals overall: 21 gold, 27 silver, and 37 bronze.
