Aryaveer Dewan to spearhead Indian challenge at Asian Junior Individual Championships in China
Aryaveer Dewan will spearhead India’s challenge at the Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships to be held in Panzhihua, China, between May 20 and 24.
Dewan, who won the U-17 boys title last year, will compete in the U-19 category this time, where he is the third seed.
India will field 32 players across U-11 and U-19 categories and look to improve on their seven-medal haul comprising two gold, two silver and three bronze in the previous edition.

Avani cards second lowest score of the day to make cut in Germany
Avani Prashanth emerged as the lone Indian to make the cut at the Amundi German Masters after producing an impressive four-under 69 in the second round to climb to 1-over par overall.
Avani, playing in only her second season as a professional on the Ladies European Tour, carded the joint second-lowest round to climb to tied-47th and safely make the cut, which fell at 2-over par.
The two other Indians in the field, Pranavi Urs and Vani Kapoor, failed to make the weekend after missing the cut. Pranavi returned a second-round card of 1-over par to finish at 4-over overall in tied-72nd place, while Vani retired after the opening round.
Avani, meanwhile, enjoyed a much-improved second round after starting on the front nine. The turnaround was evident early as she eagled the par-5 fourth hole, having endured a double bogey on the same hole in the opening round.
She carried the momentum into the back nine with birdies on the 11th and 13th holes before dropping her lone shot of the round on the 14th. A late birdie on the 17th capped off an impressive day as Avani signed off with a 4-under 69.

Aditi misses cut in Cincinnati
Indian golfer Aditi Ashok missed the cut at the Kroger Queen City Championship after carding a second round of 1-over 71.
Put alongside her round of 2-over on the first day, her total score was 3-over par after the second round while the cut was set at 2-over par.
Aditi missed the cut for only the third time this season. Her last result was the T-3 finish at the Blue Bay LPGA.

Veer Ahlawat and Saptak Talwar miss the cut
India’s Veer Ahlawat and Saptak Talwar made an early exit as the duo missed the cut at the Challenge de Catalunya.
Ahlawat carded a bogey-free second round of 4-under 69 following a first round even par 71 but still missed out.
Talwar, who shot 86 on day one, carded 1-under 71 but it did not help me make the cut.
The cut this week was set at 5-under par.

Rayhan Thomas builds on is solid start
Rayhan Thomas built on his solid start by carding a 3-under 70 to move into the top 15 after the second round of the Colonial Life Charity Classic in Elgin, US.
Thomas now has a total score of 5-under par and is placed T-14 on the leaderboard.
Thomas began his second round on the front nine with birdies on the first and second holes. He dropped a stroke on the ninth hole to be 1-under par at the turn.
On the back nine, he dropped a stroke on the 13th hole before making consecutive birdies on the 14th and 15th holes. A third bogey on the 16th hole was followed by consecutive birdies on the 17th and 18th holes to close the day with a score of 3-under 67.

Priya Kumari clinches double at IGU Pune Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship
Priya Kumari sank two clutch putts under pressure to clinch a splendid double – the overall title as well as Category ‘A’ (15-17 years) – at the IGU Pune Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship at the Oxford Golf Resort in Pune.
Ojaswini Saraswat took the Category ‘B’ (13-14) title with a seven-shot win over Anushka Gupta (72), while Ridhima Kapoor (82) emerged triumphant in Category ‘C’ (11-12), winning by an eight-shot margin over Ahana Shah and Aaliya Kalra (80).

Vihaan Jain wins maiden title at IGU Andhra Pradesh Junior Boys Golf Championship
Vihaan Jain clinched his maiden Category ‘A’ (15-17 years) title at the IGU Andhra Pradesh Junior Boys Golf Championship at the East Point Golf Club in Visakhapatnam.
Vihaan shot a closing two-under 70 for a three-shot victory over Arjun Dahiya (74), who suffered a meltdown on the back nine. The 16-year-old finished with a four-day aggregate of four-under 284. Dahiya, who stayed in the hunt until the 13th hole, finished three shots ahead of third-placed Ishnidh Virdi (74) with a total of one-under 287.
In Category ‘B’ (13-14), Chaitanya Pandey wrapped up a massive 10-shot victory over Aditya Misra despite shooting a four-over 76 on the final day. While Pandey finished with a four-day total of four-over 292, Misra, who shot a 73 in the fourth round, managed only a total of 14-over 302. Karnataka’s Aditya Tewari (72) was a further stroke behind in third place.
