Red Bull driver Max Verstappen retired from the opening lap of the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix after due to power related issues after a stalled start.
Verstappen qualified second on the grid after Saturday’s qualifying but all his good work came undone when the red lights went off at the race start on Sunday.
The four-time world champion botched his start and failed to get off the line, tumbling down the order all the way to last place.
Verstappen, seemingly suffering from power-unit related issues, dragged his slow-moving car to the pitlane and subsequently retired from the race at the end of the opening lap.
