India captain Shubman Gill continued his good form as he brought up his ninth ODI century against Afghanistan in the second ODI in Lucknow on Wednesday. This is Gill’s first hundred as captain.
The ton came off just 77 balls — his second fastest in the format after his 72-ball ton against New Zealand 2023.
Gill has been in terrific touch this series. In the one-off Test, he scored 126 in the only innings India batted. He followed it up with an unbeaten 84 in the rain-hit first ODI as well.
