NEW DELHI: Having implemented 10% reservation for ex-Agniveers in the BSF, the government has now given effect to a similar quota for them in the CISF.
Amending the Recruitment Rules through an orderthat came into effect only on Thursday, the centre made the upper age limit for post of Constable (General Duty) relaxable up to five years for candidates from the first batch of ex-Agniveers and up to three years for the subsequent batches.
The amended rules also exempt ex-Agniveers seeking to join the CISF, from the physical efficiency test. Another note states that “10% of vacancies shall be reserved for ex-Agniveers”.
The specified age limit for recruitment to CAPFs is 18-23 years. So, any person who is enrolled as Agniveer at 17-22 years can be recruited into CAPFs till attaining 26 years. However, for ones who join the armed forces as part of the first batch of Agniveers at 23 years.
