NEW DELHI: On a tough day where India batting order collapsed like a pack of cards to fold for a lowly 109 in the third Test against Australia, India pacer Umesh Yadav was a buzz on social media as he equalled Virat Kohli’s record of sixes in the longest format.
Umesh’s entertaining 13-ball 17 knock was a lone spark in India’s first innings outing as for a brief moment, it gave fans something to cheer about on a disappointing day.
The two sixes that Umesh hit helped the lower-order batter equal Kohli’s 24 sixes in Test cricket. The maximums also helped Umesh surpass former India all-rounder Ravi Shastri (22).

Umesh is currently 17th in the list of Indian cricketers with most Test sixes which is led by Virender Sehwag (91) followed by MS Dhoni (78).
Reaction of Kohli to Umesh’s one of the sixes also went viral on social media.

Australia ended the day on top, posting 156 for 4, taking crucial 47-run lead at the close of play.

India earlier retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead after winning the Nagpur and Delhi Tests.
