Excise policy case: Vijay Nair reported to Atishi, Saurav not me, Kejriwal tells ED | India News

NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate on Monday said that Delhi CM Kejriwal named Aam Aadmi Party leaders Aatishi Marlena and Saurav Bharadwaj during interrogation.
On being asked about the level of interaction with Vijay Nair, a co-accused in liquor policy case, ED quoted Kejriwal saying that Vijay Nair didn’t report to him but to Aatishi Marlena and Saurav Bharadwaj and his interaction with Vijay Nair was limited.
Alleging Kejriwal of giving false information about his party members, ED said, “Arvind Kejriwal first says that ND Gupta is an active member of the party, is a member of the PAC (Political Affairs Committee) and knows the party’s functioning but when confronted with the statement of N D Gupta, wherein he reveals that the National Convenor takes such decisions, Arvind Kejriwal calls the National Treasurer confused.”
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal was sent to judicial custody until April 15 by Special Judge Kaveri Baweja at Rouse Avenue Court on Monday, marking the culmination of his remand period in the Delhi Excise policy money laundering case.
He has been allotted jail number 2 in Tihar, as per prison authorities.
Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in the Delhi excise policy-linked money laundering case and subsequently remanded in the agency’s custody till March 28 by a court in Delhi. He was produced before the Rouse Avenue Court after the end of his custodial remand.
