‘From Ghaziabad to Gazipur, BJP will be uprooted,’ claim INDIA bloc partners Rahul-Akhilesh | India News

GHAZIABAD: The INDIA alliance partners—Congress and SP leaders—Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav held a joint press conference in Ghaziabad on Wednesday. They came down hard on the BJP government, stating that the BJP will be uprooted in the state from Ghaziabad to Gazipur in this election.
Comparing the election manifestos, Rahul Gandhi said, “We have come up with revolutionary ideas to weed out unemployment by introducing the ‘Right to Apprenticeship’ in Congress‘s manifesto, under which all graduates will be imparted training in private and public sectors.During this, each of them will be given Rs 1 lakh/year. This will help create a trained manpower pool. On the other hand, the BJP, in its manifesto, says that in some years they will send a man to the moon and will hold the Olympics.”

Taking on the Modi government, Gandhi further said, “There are 30,000 vacant posts which the Modi government is not filling. On the contrary, Congress in its manifesto has promised that a woman from an economically weaker section family will be given Rs 1 lakh/year.”
Touching on the electoral bond issue, Gandhi termed it as ‘the world’s biggest extortion scheme’. “The Modi government claimed that electoral bonds would bring transparency to the system and it would cleanse corruption in politics. If such was the case, then why did the Supreme Court strike it down?” said Rahul Gandhi. “Through electoral bonds, the BJP doled out crores of contracts, and cases that were investigated by the ED and CBI stopped suddenly after payments through electoral bonds were made to the BJP. ‘Modi Bhrashtachar ke champion hain’, accused Gandhi.”
SP leader Akhilesh Yadav termed the INDIA alliance as ‘nai umeed’ (new hope). “Jhoot aur Loot, BJP ki pehchan ban gayi hai (lies and corruption have become BJP’s identity). Sixty lakh youth suffered due to a paper leak that took place under this government. People are yearning for change now,” said Akhilesh Yadav.
“In this election, the BJP will be uprooted in the state from Ghaziabad to Gazipur, and after the election, we will give a grand farewell to the BJP.” The two leaders also promised an MSP guarantee to the farmers and promised a caste census if voted to power.
On the question of why Rahul shifted to Wayanad, he said that was the decision of the Central Election Committee.
