Haryana police book 10 persons over gang rape charges in Jind district | India News

JIND:Women police have booked 10 persons over a case of gang rape in Haryana’s Jind district on Tuesday. A rape survivor approched women police station alleging that an accused identified as Ravinder promised her for marriage and developed physical relationship multiple times. “Later he forced me to make relationship with other guys who forcefully raped me.There were 10 persons including the main accused who sexually assaulted and threatened to kill if revealed the truth before anyone,” she alleged. After sexual assault by these accused, Ravinder refused to get married with me. He duped me on the pretext of marriage therefore, a strict must be taken against him, she added.
Getting her complaint, women police lodged a case under section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) 370 (Whoever, knowingly by or having reason to believe that a person has been trafficked, engages such person for sexual exploitation in any manner) 376 D (gang rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC. Police started a probe into the matter. All accused are natives of Jind district and they would be nabbed soon. This matter is being probed thoroughly and action would be taken accordingly, said police.
Apart from the main accused, police booked Vijay, Pona, Pradeep, Sunil, Ashok, Pradeep, Jeetu, Sonu and Deepak. All these accused sexually assaulted the victim one by one and thrashed, she alleged in her police complaint.
