Janhvi Kapoor has often been at the receiving end of heavy criticism, be it for her looks or acting chops or privileged background. The actress is totally aware of the pros and cons that comes with being constantly under the spotlight. However, Janhvi doesn’t let the negativity affect her as she believes that her work will speak for itself.
“I know people are waiting to point a finger at me. If I am smiling too much one day in front of the gym or paps have got it, they say ‘dekho kitni eager, kitni desperate hain’. I am having a bad day and I am having a huge pimple on my face and I look down and just walk, start my shoot or get over it, then it’s like ‘kitni ghamandi hain’,” Janhvi said at the India Today Conclave 2023.

“You have to learn that in the papers today, in the trash tomorrow – it really doesn’t matter. Opinions doesn’t last, what lasts is your work, what you think of yourself. All these things are not tangible,” she added.

Janhvi knows that the kind of attention she is getting is because of her parents Boney Kapoor and Sridevi and a little bit of it is because of her work. She said that opinions doesn’t really matter to her but it is important what she feels about herself and her work.

“You have to learn that in the papers today, in the trash tomorrow – it really doesn’t matter. Opinions doesn’t last, what lasts is your work, what you think of yourself. All these things are not tangible. It’s great that I am getting attention. Everyone loves it. But you can’t take it to your head. Relevance isn’t permanent. Whatever attention I am getting today at the start, it is because of my parents. Even now, a great deal of it, is because of the family I am born into. And maybe a little bit now, I’d like to think is because of the work I am doing. That’s what it comes down to it – work. It doesn’t come down to the shorts that I wore to the gym. Those aren’t the things I want to be known for,” she said.

On the work front, Janhvi will be making her south debut with Jr NTR in Kortala Siva’s NTR30. She will be also seen with Rajkummar Rao in Mr and Mrs Mahi.
