Yesterday, we got news that the inimitable Zeenat Aman was going to make her much-awaited comeback with the OTT series called Showsttopper. ETimes was able to speak to the show’s producer and director Manish Harishankar who revealed that Zeenat Aman’s co-star in the show will be another yesteryear actor.
It is actor Kiran Kumar who will play Zeenat Aman’s love interest in Showsttopper. Kiran Kumar’s most notable roles were that of a villain in films like Tezaab and Khuda Gawah. Speaking to ETimes, the show’s director Manish Harishankar said, “After I got Zeenatji on board for this mature and very beautiful love story, mature love story between Zeenatji and the partner, I had to find her a partner who would fit the bill and they should look gopd together romantically. They had to look like a good pair. I happened to talk to Kiranji. I finalized his casting and when we started shooting, I realized that Kiranji and Zeenatji are looking very good together. They look like love birds, very beautiful pair.”

Showsttopper is based on a taboo subject of bra fittings. Manish reveals that almost 80 percent of women in the world end up wearing the wrong bra size for the entire duration of their life and it causes serious health concerns. His show aims to bring this topic in light.

He reveals Showsttopper is a socially relevant show and says, “Our show will create social awareness but it will also focus on beautiful love stories. There are multiple actors, but Zeenat Aman ji has a central and pivotal role.” He mentions that Zeenat Aman was very excited at the prospect of telling this story. While they were shooting together, Zeenat also gave Manish one of the best compliments of his career. He says, “When we started shooting, my process eased Zeenatji’s nervousness. She was making a comeback after many years. She also revealed that she also gets nervous when she starts any project. Eventually she eased into the process and a few days into the shoot she told me that my process of taking shots and making the actors comfortable on set reminded her of the time she worked with Dev Anand and Raj Kapoor. It is one of the best compliments that I have ever received.”

Manish also says that Showsttopper is being made on a lavish budgets across multiple locations. They are expected to conclude shooting in one and a half months. The show isn’t attached to any OTT platform yet. Manish revealed that he will first finish shooting the show and then start the process of signing up with a platform.
