POONCH: A woman and her minor son were burnt alive while three others sustained injuries when an LPG cylinder caught fire and exploded in a house in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Police said around a dozen livestock also perished in the fire.
The accident took place in Chandimarh village of Surankote sub-division of Poonch district. “The fire incident took place in a house belonging to one Shoket Hussain of Chandimarh where his wife Hamida Begum (40) and kid Aqib (4) were burnt alive. Three other family members, including the deceased woman’s husband and two children, sustained minor burn injuries,” a police spokesperson said.
