‘Mamata’s slogan changed from Maa, Maati, Manush to …’: Amit Shah targets Bengal CM | India News

NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader of straying from her promise of a government for “Maa, Maati, Manush” and instead catering to “Mullah, Madrasa, and Mafia”.
During a poll rally in Bengal’s Serampore, the home minister criticized the West Bengal chief minister for refusing to attend the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, despite receiving a formal invitation. He alleged that her decision was motivated by a desire to appease a specific vote bank, which he identified as infiltrators rather than the people of West Bengal.
“Mamata Banerjee came into power with the slogan of ‘Ma, Maati, Manush’ but this slogan has lost now and ‘Mulla, Maulavi, Madrasa’ is there at the ground… She denies the permission of ‘Durga Visarjan’ but gives leave to Muslim employees in Ramzan,” Amit Shah said.
The Home Minister also accused Mamata of misleading the public about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and asked the state to choose between infiltrators and the CAA.
“Bengal has to decide whether it wants infiltrators or CAA for refugees. Bengal has to decide whether it wants to vote for jihad or vote for Vikas,” he said.
Amit Shah also referred to protests in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and said “PoK is part of India and we will take it”.
“After the abrogation of article 370 by the government in 2019 peace has returned to Kashmir. But now we witness protests in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Earlier slogans of Azaadi were heard here, now the same slogans are heard in PoK. Earlier stones were pelted here, now stones are pelted in PoK,” he said.
