No hate politics over rice, Karnataka CM tells Amit Shah | India News

NEW DELHI/BENGALURU: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah said on Thursday he has asked home minister Amit Shah that “hate politics” shouldn’t overshadow the state’s Anna Bhagya scheme, which is part of Congress’ poll promise to provide five additional kilos of rice to each member of families below the poverty line.
“I met Amit Shah last night (Wednesday). I brought to his notice that FCI had agreed to supply rice. Yet, the next day it expressed its inability to supply rice,” the CM said. “Prima facie, it looks like politics has been played. Let there be no hate politics in this, as this is a programme for the poor,” the CM said. He said Shah had told him that “he’ll speak to food minister Piyush Goyal and get back” to him. tnn
