Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra was one of the first to raise protest against “obscene and condemnable” content after ‘Pathaan’ song ‘Besharam Rang’ was released last year. However, the film has made it to the big screens without Deepika Padukone’s controversial saffron bikini getting chopped off.
Soon after the film’s release on Janaury 25, Narottam Mishra stated that there was no point in protesting against the movie as the Censor Board had taken care of the controversial content. He stated, “I believe all rectifications have been made in it (film). The Censor Board has made corrections. Controversial words have been removed. So, I don’t see any point in protesting now.” While protests continued in parts of Madhya Pradesh, the state Home Minister promised that those protesting against ‘Pathana’ will be counselled.

Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked party workers to avoid making unnecessary remarks on irrelevant issues such as movies. Reacting to the same, Mishra had said, “Nobody was named, but his (PM Modi’s) every word, sentence is important for us and that is why all the workers have drawn inspiration from there. Our conduct and behaviour are always filled with his guidance and energy and will continue to be in future.”
