Kapil Dev captains the underdog Indian national cricket team to their maiden World Cup win in 1983, at a time when no one in their wildest dream could have imagined that this team, inspite of good players individually, had it in them to win cricket’s most coveted trophy. The movie had an ensemble cast, with Ranveer Singh stepping into Kapil Dev’s shoes, along with Angad Bedi, Harrdy Sandhu, Jatin Sarna, Tahir Raj Bhasin and Deepika Padukone in an extended cameo.
