“Concluding a very special USA visit, where I got to take part in numerous programmes and interactions aimed at adding momentum to the India-USA friendship,” PM Modi said on Twitter.
Modi was in the US at the invitation of US President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. His visit to the US started in New York, where he led a historic event at the UN Headquarters to commemorate the 9th International Day of Yoga on June 21.
The two leaders held a historic summit on Thursday, followed by Modi’s address to Congress and a State Dinner hosted at the White House by the Bidens in his honour. The visit was marked by several major deals to boost cooperation in key areas such as defence, space and trade.
During PM Modi’s visit, big companies like Micron, Google, and Applied Materials have also announced the investment in India. Micron’s $2.5 billion investment in the semiconductor sector is going to link India to the world semiconductor chain. Google will also be going to open their Global Fintech centre in India. Besides, Boeing has announced to make an investment of $100 billion in India.
PM Modi is now headed to Cairo on a two-day State visit to Egypt. Modi’s two-day state visit to Egypt at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is the first bilateral visit by an Indian prime minister since 1997.
