Padma award is one of the highest civilian honour in the country and it includes Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. Every year, these awards are announced on the occasion of Republic day and the list of the 2023 awards has been announced. The list of this year’s awardees has just been declared a while ago.
Raveena Tandon will be awarded with a Padma Shri this year. The actress spoke to Etimes and reacted on this honour. She said, “Honoured and grateful. Thank you so much, Government of India, for acknowledging my contributions, my life, my passion and purpose – cinema and the arts, that allowed me to contribute, not only to the film industry, but also beyond. I thank all those who guided me through this journey of Art and Craft of Cinema – all those who held my hand through it, and all those who watched me from their place above. I owe this to my father – Ravi Tandon.”

The actress was seen in ‘Aranyak’ last year apart from her stellar act in ‘KGF Chapter 2’. Other awardees include Golden Globe winner, MM Keeravani for his contribution to the field of music. Singer Suman Kalyanpur who has been working since the year 1954 and known for several songss in movies like ‘Noor Jahan’, ‘Pakeezah’, ‘Dil Ek Mandir’ will be awarded a Padma Shree. Legendary Zakir Hussain is also one of the awardees.
The Padma awards will be conffered in the month of April or May by the President of India. This year, 19 awardees in this list are women. The list comprises 6 Padma Vibhushan, 9 Padma Bhushan and 91 Padma Shri Awards.
