Speaking to ETimes, SJ Suryah reveals how he felt when he learned about the fate of the film. “I shot for a film with Big B sir and after we shot for 10 days, the movie got shelved. I tried my level best to make it happen again. I literally rolled on the floor, I was crying. That much pain I had when I got to know that the film will not take off. I wanted to go global and be a pan-India actor, but unfortunately I barely touched it and that too with the legend, and that didn’t happen. Maybe due to some evil eye, I don’t know, it didn’t happen. But now I will go global with the upcoming Tamil web series ‘Vadhandhi’ releasing in five different languages. I just hope the Hindi audience accepts me,” he said.
Recalling his shooting experience with Big B, Suryah shared, “On the shooting day, Big B sir’s makeup man came to me to apply a ‘tika’ on my forehead. Amitabh ji entered the green room and shooed him away. He chanted some mantras and applied ‘tika’ on my forehead. I cannot forget that moment. I earned so much love from the legendary actor.”
“I wish after seeing my new web series, the producers change their minds and revive the film,” Suryah signs off with a smile of hope.
Produced by Pushkar and Gayatri who helmed ‘Vikram Vedha’, starring SJ Suryah in his digital debut, and director Andrew Louis’ compelling storytelling and direction, ‘Vadhandhi’ is the series to watch out for.
