Surjewala’s remark against actor-politician Hema Malini gives BJP ammo to target Cong | India News

NEW DELHI: The BJP on Thursday reacted scathingly over Congress leadersremarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha MP Hema Malini, saying they have lost their “mental balance” and the people of the country will give their party a befitting reply in the ongoing general elections.
Senior Congress leader Charan Das Mahant, while addressing a rally in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday, called for support for former chief minister Bhupesh Baghel contesting from the Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha seat and said, “We want someone who can hold a stick and bash Narendra Modi’s head.”
The BJP also responded to Congress leader Randeep Surjewala‘s “sexist” remarks against noted Bollywood actress and Mathura MP Hema Malini saying such attack on dignity of women by the opposition party is not a case in isolation but they are habitual of it that reflects their dastardly mindset.
BJP IT department head Amit Malviya on Wednesday shared an undated video, accusing Haryana Congress leader Randeep Surjewala of making “vile, sexist” remarks against BJP MP and candidate from the Mathura seat Hema Malini. In the video posted by Malviya on X, Surjewala was seen purportedly making some objectionable remarks about the actor-politician while attacking the ruling BJP.
“Ham MLA/MP kyo banate hai, taaki woh hamari awaj utha sake, hamari baat manwa sake, isliye banate hai, Koi Hema Malini to nahi, jo Chaatne ke liye banate hai,” Congress leader Surjewala is heard saying in the video.
Surjewala’s purported video has come in public a few days after his party’ colleague Supriya Srinate’s “Mandi mein Kya Bhav” remark against Kangana Ranaut, the Bollywood actress, contesting the Lok Sabha polls as BJP nominee from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.
