NEW DELHI: The Indian Railways is likely to launch the fourth Vande Bharat Express train from Delhi soon. Sources said this will run between Delhi and Jaipur and the date for the flagging off would be announced in the next few weeks. The train would run six days a week and the travel time between the two cities would reduce substantially, sources said.
Currently, three Vande Bharat trains operate from Delhi, providing faster rail link to Varanasi, Katra and Una (Himachal Pradesh). The railways has announced to increase the frequency of Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express from five days a week to six days from Monday.
The North-Western zone has asked the railways’ catering and ticketing wing, IRCTC, to make necessary arrangements onboard the Vande Bharat train. The semi-highspeed train can run at a maximum speed of 200kmph.
Currently, Vande Bharat Express trains are operational on 10 routes in India. The railways would launch 400 such trains in the next three-four years. As per the plan, 75 of these trains will have seating facilities and the rest will have the sleeper arrangement.
