Vemireddy and ex finance minister Anam address a joint public meeting at Sangam in Nellore district | India News

TIRUPATI: Telugu Desam party‘s Nellore parliament constituency candidate Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy and former finance minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, who is now the TDP nominee from the Atmakur assembly constituency addressed a massive joint public meeting at Sangam in Nellore district on Thursday.
While Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy is engaged in an intense battle with YSRCP MP V Vijayasai Reddy at the Nellore parliament, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy will be contesting against YSRCP sitting MLA Mekapati Vikram Reddy at the Atmakur assembly.
Addressing an impressive public meeting at Sangam on Thursday, Vemireddy underlined the historic necessity for voting the Telugu Desam party to power in the ensuing general elections in order to safeguard the interests of the state.
“The TDP, Jana Sena and the BJP entered into an electoral alliance, keeping in mind the larger interests of the state and its people. Andhra Pradesh has reached a state of ruin during the last five years and only the NDA alliance could undo the damage done by the YSRCP govt”, Vemireddy underlined.
Former finance minister Anam recalled how the successive govts in the past perfectly balanced between their welfare and development agendas and pointed out that the YSRCP govt miserably failed in following suit, leaving the state in dire straits without any development in sight.
Ramanarayana Reddy also slammed his political opponent Vikram Reddy for neglecting the development of the Atmakur assembly constituency in the last five years.
“During my tenure as the Atmakur MLA, several development works were launched. The Somasila high level canal works were also expedited at a brisk pace. But after I shifted to the Venkatagiri assembly constituency, development has come to a complete standstill at Atmakur due to the apathy of the sitting MLA and the YSRCP govt”, Anam lamented.
Ramanarayana Reddy urged the people of Atmakur and Nellore districts to pledge support for the NDA candidates in the upcoming elections so that the state could be brought back onto the path of development in the next five years under the leadership of Prime minister Narendra Modi and TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
