Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu notched up her maiden Women’s T20 World Cup century on Tuesday against the Group-B fixture against Ireland in Bristol.
The southpaw brought up her century in 58 balls. This ton was the second of this edition after England’s Dani Wyatt-Hodge had done it in the tournament opener.
Her ton contained 17 fours and two sixes, and was her fourth T20I ton. Incidentally, it is also at the same venue that she scored her iconic century against Australia in the 2017 ODI World Cup.
Athapaththu finished on 106 not out from 61 balls, giving her the highest individual score of the tournament.
