India won its third silver medal at the 2026 Commonwealth Games as Gyaneshwari Yadav finished second in the final of the women’s 53 kg weightlifting event.
Her achievement increased India’s tally to five medals, including one gold, three silver, and one bronze medals. All of India’s medals so far has come from weightlifting and para-powerlifting and Bindyarani Devi will be aiming to join the list when she takes part in the final of the women’s 58 kg event at 8:00 PM.
India are currently eighth in the points table behind Malaysia, who are seventh due to superior gold medal count.
