Murali Sreeshankar will be aiming to win consecutive Commonwealth Games medal at the final of the men’s long jump event on Wednesday.

The final is scheduled to take place on July 29, Wednesday at 11:52 PM. The event will be televised live on the Sony Sports Network and will be streamed live on the Sony LIV app and website.

Sreeshankar, who won the silver medal at the 2022 Games in Birmingham, qualified for the final with a jump of 8.01 metre in his first attempt.

In Birmingham, Sreeshankar had qualified top among all athletes with a jump of 8.05 but ended up finishing second in the final with 8.08 level with gold medal winner LaQuan Nairn from the Bahamas who had the higher ‘second-best’ jump.

Along with Sreeshankar, Lokesh Sathyanathan will also be taking part in the final, after finishing seventh in the qualification round with a jump of 7.77 metres.
