A week of the 23rd edition of the Commonwealth Games is done and dusted as the Indian contingent added more medals to its tally on Day 7 of the competition.
So far, the nation has grabbed a total of 14 medals – three gold, eight silver and three bronze.
On Wednesday, India added three more medals through para athletes Dilip Gavit and Mohammed Basil, and long jumper Murali Sreeshankar.
Gavit and Basil took the gold and silver medal respectively in the men’s 100m T47 final, while Sreeshankar secured silver in the men’s final with a best of 8.09m.
Earlier in the day, boxers ruled the roost as they assured six more medals for India. Sakshi Chaudhary (51kg), Arundhati Choudhary (70kg), Sachin Siwach (60kg), Ankush Panghal (80kg) and Narender Berwal (+90kg), and Jaismine Lamboria (57kg) entered their respective semifinals to ensure themselves of at least a bronze.
In Athletics, Parul Chaudhary (women’s 3000m steeplechase) will also be in action in her final.
