World Cup-winner Pratika Rawal will not be joining the Warwickshire squad for the Metro Bank One Day Cup after she was called up to India’s Women’s Asia Cup squad.

Pratika, on Friday, was named as an injury replacement for Jemimah Rodrigues, who was ruled out of the upcoming Asia Cup and the Asian Games.

Jemimah suffered a tear to her right hamstring while playing for Southern Brave in The Hundred on August 3, and subsequent assessment by the BCCI Medical Team at its Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru confirmed the severity of the injury.

Warwickshire women’s team head coach Ali Maiden said: “We were really looking forward to welcoming Pratika into our squad for the remainder of the season and we’re incredibly disappointed to lose her. That being said, we’ve still got a lot to play for in the remaining weeks of the season and we’re confident in the squad we have at our disposal. Playing for your country is the ultimate honour and we wish Pratika well in the Asia Cup.”
