Sisters Serena and Venus Williams have received women’s doubles wild card for the upcoming US Open, the US Tennis Association announced on Wednesday.
Serena and Venus won the title at Flushing Meadows in 1999 and 2009. However, they haven’t played a Grand Slam match together since the US Open in 2022 where they lost in the first round.
This year’s US Open will be held from August 30 to September 13.
The duo recently played its first match together in four years where it suffered a first-round defeat against fellow wild cards, Marta Kostyuk of Czechia and Peyton Stearns of the United States, at the Cincinnati Open.
