India all-rounder Deepti Sharma momentarily overtook Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong on the top of the highest wicket-takers list in women’s T20Is.
The Agra player achieved this feat during India’s 94-run win over Thailand in its Women’s Asia Cup 2026 opener.
After her pristine three-wicket haul in her 1.1 overs, which included a double-wicket maiden, Deepti now has 171 wickets in the shortest format to her name. Putthawong, who picked up one wicket in this match, has 170 scalps in her T20I career so far.
While Deepti removed Nannapat Koncharoenkai, Naomi Hamilton, and Nannaphat Chaihan, Putthawong accounted for the wicket of India captain Harmanpreet Kaur.
