Bangladesh beat San Marino 2-1 in an international friendly at San Marino Stadium in Serravalle, San Marino on Friday.
It was centre-back Topu Barman who netted a brace for the Bengal Tigers. He first gave the visitor the lead in the 19th minute before Nicolas Giacopetti restored parity. Then late in second half, in the 86th minute, Barman scored the winner.

Topu Barman, 31, plays for Basundhara Kings in the Bangladesh Premier League. He made his international debut in 2014 when he was just 19.
Through his international career with the Bengal Tigers, he’s scored crucial goals for the Bangladesh team in World Cup qualifiers and SAFF Championships. He’s appeared for the national team in 69 matches, scoring seven goals.
His maiden international goal came in T, India, against Bhutan during the 2015 SAFF Championship. His international debut came against Sri Lanka in a friendly.
According to The Daily Star, Barman had even attracted interest from Indian Super League outfit NorthEast United FC in 2021, when current Indian men’s national team head coach Khalid Jamil was the Highlanders’ coach.
