Harsh Dubey and Gurnoor Brar will make their India debuts in the first ODI debut against Afghanistan at Dharamsala on Saturday, announced captain Shubman Gill at the toss.
Harsh and Gurnoor were named in both the Test as well as the ODI squads for the Afghanistan series for the first time in their careers, along with Manav Suthar.
Suthar made his debut in the one-off Test and impressed with match figures of 7/62, and was named the Player of the Match.
Harsh is a left-arm spin bowling all-rounder who plays for Vidarbha in the domestic circuit. In the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season, the 23-year-old picked 69 wickets- the most across a single Ranji season which helped Vidarbha win the trophy.
Harsh played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2026 and made eight appearances, in which he picked up eight wickets.
Gurnoor, on the other hand, is a right-arm fast bowler who hails from Punjab and was part of the Gujarat Titans squad in IPL 2026. The lanky pacer has the ability to extract steep bounce off the surface and has picked up 52 wickets in 18 matches in First-Class cricket.
Gurnoor picked up a wicket in his very first over in the first innings, dismissing Ibrahim Zadran for one run.
