In the state of West Bengal, the Congress party had reportedly been unable to regain strength since 1977.

First, the Communist Party of India (Marxist), and later the Trinamool Congress, ruled West Bengal continuously.

Because of this, the Congress party was allegedly unable to even establish a foothold in the state. In particular, it is claimed that many Congress party offices had been taken over by members of the Trinamool Congress.

There were also complaints that Congress workers were being suppressed and prevented from functioning by the Trinamool Congress.

In this situation, it is being claimed that the BJP has removed the government led by Mamata Banerjee and taken power in West Bengal.

Following this, a video has reportedly surfaced showing Congress workers reclaiming their old party office and removing the Trinamool Congress party names and symbols that had been written there.

Congress workers are said to be expressing the view that only after the BJP came to power were they able to function freely, and therefore they feel that the BJP has given them “freedom.”
