India’s Animesh Kujur qualified for the mens’ 200 metre semifinal on Day 7 at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Animesh, part of Heat 4, clocked a time of 20.46 seconds, his season best to finish first in his heat and seventh in the overall standings.
His effort was a little shy of his national record time of 20.32 seconds he set at last year’s Asian Championships but it was enough to go through to the final four. The 16 fastest athletes across the ten heats directly qualify for the semifinals.
The semifinals is set to take place on Thursday, July 30.
