The inaugural season of the European T20 Premier League (ETPL) is set to kick off at Sportpark Duivesteijn in Voorburg, the Netherlands, on Wednesday.
The six-team tournament will be played over the next three weeks, with a total of 32 matches, including a qualifier and the final, scheduled for September 19 and 20, respectively.
What is the format?
The ETPL will be played in a double round-robin format. The team that finishes top of the table at the end of the league stage will advance directly to the final. The second- and third-placed teams will face off in a qualifier, with the winner advancing to the summit clash.
How many Indians are part of ETPL?
Rahul Dravid is the co-owner of Dublin Guardians, a side that will be led — and mentored — by Ravichandran Ashwin. Vijay Shankar is also part of the Dublin squad. Former India batting coach, Vikram Rathour, will be coaching the team.
Apart from them, recently retired Ajinkya Rahane has signed up with Amsterdam Flames.
