Since winning the rights to produce new ‘Lego’-based movies after Warner Bros. lost them back in 2020, the studio hasn’t exactly cranked out much besides Pharrell Williams biopic ‘Piece by Piece,’ which didn’t do well at the box office.
Hopes are higher for a new project, as Deadline reports that Keanu Reeves will star in a new ‘Lego’ outing to be directed by Josh Cooley, who worked with the actor when he voiced Duke Caboom in ‘Toy Story 4.’

The details are staying under wraps for now, but the movie is reportedly going to be a blend of live-action and animation, possibly even more than the original ‘Lego’ outing.

Universal is keeping the plot details locked inside a toy chest for now, but we do know the screenplay has been tailored to Reeves’ character (whatever that is) and that the studio had Cooley pitch him the concept to build on their established working relationship.
What else is Keanu Reeves working on?
Reeves –– or his voice, at least –– is back on screens now, as Duke Caboom makes a cameo in ‘Toy Story 5.’ The actor was most recently seen in Jonah Hill’s comedy ‘Outcome.’
Upcoming, he has a role in director Ruben Östlund’s new movie ‘The Entertainment System is Down’ and will be heard next year reprising the role of Shadow in ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 4.’
